About
A course that studies Pranayamas from the classical Yoga tradition of Yogamaharishi Dr Swami Gitananda Giri. This course is a practice based, which means we will spend time meeting together to practice these techniques to feel how they really work on our energetic system. The course is divided into four 2 hour practical workshops: Techniques for the LOWER section of your lungs Techniques for the MIDDLE section of your lungs Techniques for the UPPER section of your lungs Techniques for complete breathing . note: techniques and practices taught will include Asanas, Mudras, Pranayamas and visualisations. Starts October 2024 This course is primarily for absolutley anyone but I would recommend it for those who have either respiritory issues/ weakness or if you have low energy levels as breath and energy are inextricably intertwined! The Level? There will be a lot of Pranayame work which is done essentially from a sitting position for increased periods of time, you can sit on a yoga mat or you can also have the option to sit in a chair. The Asana practices are traditionally done from the yoga mat but if you have any limitations here we can look at some other gentle variations from a chair, but the mat masked work is definitely more effective! Who is this course for? The Gitananda Traditon mentions 120 Pranayamas, and out of these we will select the ones that are catogorised as corrective and disciplines. In each 2 hour workshop the general outline will be as follows: 10:15am arrive 10:30am start with jattis /gentle warming up movements and stretches 11am Asana / posture work directly related to opening a specific area of the lungs 11:30am Pranayama for a specific area of the lungs 12pm awareness visualisation practices 12:30pm close Explaination will be given during The videos will be pre-recorded and we will meet up for a live class at the start and end of the training! Price: £75 Once you have placed payment you will get access to the course platform.
